Women’s Volleyball Ranks 15th In AVCA Poll

Oct. 12, 1999

CLEMSON, S.C.-The Clemson volleyball team is ranked 15th nationally according to the AVCA Division I Coaches Poll released this week, dropping two spots from last week’s 13th-place ranking. The Tigers received 596 points in the poll. Last week Clemson defeated NC State and Florida State before being defeated by North Carolina for its first loss of the season.

“We were disappointed to lose to North Carolina at home, but North Carolina really played well,” said Clemson head coach Jolene Jordan Hoover, now in her seventh season with the Tigers. “We have a big weekend ahead with Maryland and Virginia on the road.”

Clemson (16-1, 5-1 ACC) will travel to Maryland Friday at 7 p.m. and will play at Virginia on Saturday at 7 p.m.
