Women’s Track & Field Travels to Tennessee for Niswonger Invitational

The Clemson women’s track & field team will travel to Johnson City, TN to compete in the Niswonger Invitational this weekend. Over 1,100 student-athletes from 60 teams will compete in the meet this weekend at the East Tennessee State campus. The Lady Tigers will compete in 11 events at the meet.

The Lady Tigers will get underway Friday morning with the 60m hurdle prelims at 11:00 AM. Krystal Barringer, Michaylin Golladay, Ashley Good, and Polly Hardy are entered in that event for Clemson. At the same time Friday, the weight throw will get started. Della Clark, who owns the top mark so far in the ACC this season, will be joined by Rochelle Kokayko and Catheryne Porter.

The triple jump is set for 12:00 PM Friday. Patricia Mamona, who owns one of the top marks in the nation this year in that event, leads a group of five Lady Tigers. At 1:40 PM, Tia Perry, and Ope Sobanjo are scheduled for the 400m dash. The 60m prelims will take place at 3:20. Ra’Sheena Parker, Clemson’s top performers in that event, will be joined by Golladay and Hardy at that time.

The 800m competition is set for 5:00 PM. Thea Dix, Candice Johnson, and Patrice McMillan are slated to compete in that event. Seven student-athletes from Clemson are entered in the 200m dash, which is scheduled for 5:20. Scott and Golladay have the top marks in the 200m for the Lady Tigers this season.

Saturday’s events will begin at 8:00 AM and will follow a rolling schedule. The 3000m run, long jump, and high jump are scheduled for Saturday. Laura Laughlin will be Clemson’s lone runner in the 3000m, while Good and Nakeisha Wineglass will compete in the long jump. In the high jump, Anni Korhonen will represent the Lady Tigers.
