Clemson, SC – The women’s track & field team will compete in its second meet of the 2007-08 indoor season this weekend in Lexington, KY at the Kentucky Invitational. The meet will be held at Kentucky’s Nutter Field House on Friday and Saturday.

The women’s team will compete in a variety of events, including primarily sprints and hurdles. Krystal Barringer will be an active part of the weekend, as she is entered in three events for the Lady Tiger team. She gets the action underway with the 60m hurdles at 12:30 PM. She will be joined in the event by Polly Hardy, who ranks third on the all-time performance list at Clemson.

Both Hardy and Barringer are slated for the 200m dash, which will be held at 3:35 PM. Also in the event from Clemson are Michaylin Golladay, Ashley Good, Patricia Mamona, Kristine Scott, April Sinkler, and Nakeisha Wineglass.

The 60m dash will be held after the high hurdles. Competing in that event for the Lady Tigers are Barringer and multi-event athletes Linda Buchholz and Liane Weber. At 2:15 PM, Sierra Hill and Christina Mason will compete in the 400m dash.

Joanie Castagno, Candice Johnson, and Ashley Vaughn will compete in the mile run. That event is scheduled for 1:15 PM. Lisa Brown, Sunday Ford, and Laura Laughlin will run in the 3000m race at approximately 4:15.

In terms of field events, Clemson will only compete in the long jump, high jump, and shot put on Saturday. Six student-athletes are entered in the long jump, including sophomore standout Patricia Mamona and impact newcomer April Sinkler. In the high jump, veterans Katie Farnan and Anastasia Wilson will compete for the title at 10:30 AM. Rounding out Clemson’s entries will be freshman Allison Lake in the shot put, also at 10:30.
