Women’s Track & Field Helping the Local Community

Dec. 6, 2007

Clemson, SC – The women’s track & field team will sponsor two children from both the SHARE Head Start and Helping Hands programs during this holiday season. Team and staff members will also be present at the Helping Hands Christmas Party on December 8 at 12:00 PM at the Clemson Recreation Center.

The SHARE Head Start and Early Head Start Programs are committed to providing quality, comprehensive early childhood and family development services to low-income preschool children, their families and pregnant women. During the holiday season many of these families find themselves in need of special assistance. In order to help make the holiday season brighter for the children and families that they serve, the program seeks donations/contributions from business and community organizations. In conjunction with the Helping Hands effort, the women’s track & field team will be providing basic necessities for the children in need. These items include toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, combs, socks, underwear, nail polish, coloring books, and batteries.
