Women’s Track Competes At Sea Ray Relays

April 12, 1998

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The 4x100m relay team of Terri Robinson, Simone Tomlinson, Shekera Weston, and Nikkie Bouyer set a new Sea Ray Relays record with a time of 43.97. The four day meet was held on the University of Tennessee’s campus.

The relay team had already broken the six year old Clemson record of 44.39, earlier this season at the Florida Relays when they ran 43.91. Both this time and the previous one automatically qualifies them for the NCAA Championships. They also have the fastest time in the ACC in the event.

The 4x400m relay team is also on top of the ACC and finished second this weekend with an NCAA provisional time of 3:33.79.

Junior Nikkie Bouyer won her event the 100m hurdles with an NCAA provisional time of 13.51. Bouyer currently ranks first in the school record books in the hurdles with a time of 13.34 that she ran in 1996.

Freshman Jamine Moton squeaked into the Clemson record books when she threw 46’01.25 in the shot put for a fifth place finish. The mark places her fifth and she replaces Denise Massey’s 1994 mark of 46’00.25″.
