Women’s Track And Field Team To Host Tiger Invitational

The Clemson women’s track and field team will host the Tiger Invitational this Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Facility. Twenty-four teams will be competing at this weekend’s meet. The meet is slated to begin at 10:00 AM with the weight throw, and the track events will begin with the women’s distance medley relay at 11:20 AM. This will be the Lady Tigers’ final meet prior to the ACC Championships that will be held at Clemson Feb. 20-21.

In the 60m dash, Jessica Cousins and Sybil Sobanjo will compete for the Lady Tigers, while Randi Hinton, Silja Ulfarsdottir, Shakirah Rutherford and Sobanjo will contest the 200m. Clemson’s 400m entrants include Hinton, Ulfarsdottir, Rutherford, Christina Smith, Patrice McMillan, Sudati Masasu and Sobanjo. Casey Phillips, Jennifer Barton and LaToya Woodberry will take to the track in the 800m, and Barton will double in the mile run. Jelyn Quick, Marquita Dortch, Christina Moore, Charlynda Nyenke and Lauren Nicholson will compete in the 60m hurdles.

In the field events, Christina Moore are the Lady Tigers’ representatives in the high jump. Sara Young and Beth Jordan will compete in the pole vault. Della Clark, Allison Bradshaw and Krystal Woods will represent Clemson in the shot put and weight throw, and Nicholson will also compete in the shot put.
