The Clemson Tigers Swimming and Diving Team will be sending two Lady Tigers to the NCAA Championships to compete this weekend, March 19-21 in Minneapolis, MN.

The Lady Tigers competing for a NCAA title are sophomores Erin Schatz and Jennifer Mihalik. Both swimmers will be in three events, Schatz in the 200 backstroke, 1650 freestyle and 500 freestyle, while Mihalik is in the 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 500 freestyle.

Erin Schatz makes her second trip to the NCAA competing in two of the same events as last year’s, the 200 backstroke and 500 freestyle. It also ranked her 22nd on the College Swimming Coaches Association of America’s College Quick 25. Schatz’s third event will be the 1650 freestyle, which ranks her 24th. Her time of 16:37.75, which was also captured against Auburn, placed her fourth in Clemson history.

Clemson native Jennifer Mihalik heads to the NCAA as ACC Champion in the 200 backstroke. Mihalik set an ACC and Clemson record in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:58.77. She has the best times of the season in the 50 freestyle (23.35) and 100 backstroke (56.18). Each landing her third place spots in Clemson history.
