Women’s Swimming & Diving Team To Play Host To Gardner-Webb Friday

The Clemson women’s swimming and diving team will play host to Gardner-Webb on Friday afternoon. The meet, which will be held at McHugh Natatorium, is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. Th men’s team will then host Florida State Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. in McHugh Natatorium. The women are 4-3 overall and 0-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference on the season, while the men stand at 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the ACC.

Clemson defeated College of Charleston 143-87 and fell to defending ACC Champion Virginia 90-151 in dual meets last weekend. The Tigers were led by freshman Christine Anseeuw, who won the 100 free, placed second in the 200 free, and was a member of Clemson’s winning 400 free relay team against the Cavaliers. Against College of Charleston, 12 different swimmers and divers won events for the Tigers.

Gardner-Webb is 0-1 this season, after falling to Davidson by a score of 104-158 in their season opener. Freshman Terra Wilson leads the Bulldogs, after setting school records in three events (50 and 100 free and 100 back) against Davidson. Wilson also led Gardner-Webb at the Tar Heel Invitational last weekend, as she placed third in the 50 free at the meet. Friday’s meet will be the first meeting between the Tigers and the Bulldogs.
