Women?s Soccer Players Help Build School in Honduras during Spring Break Service Trip

Most people plan to go to the beach and relax during their week of Spring Break, but that wasn’t the case for four Clemson women’s soccer players. Sophomore Allie Kington and freshmen Tori Andreski, Anna Davis and Jenna Weston, wanted to take a trip that was a little more meaningful to them – so they flew to Honduras to help build a school for the local youth.

Through Students Helping Honduras, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving schools in villages across Honduras, the four teammates were able to see the unfortunate reality that is Hondurans’ lives. Since they could only imagine what it would be like to be in their shoes, from March 15-22, they devoted to helping improve the lives of the youth. Building off the progress made from the student volunteers over winter break, they committed much of their time to finishing the school.

Weston shared about the experience:

“Honduras was one of the most rewarding experiences. It’s great to know that I was able to influence the lives of the Hondurans, but the impact the workers and the children had on me has opened my eyes to much more important things.”
