CLEMSON, S.C. – The women’s basketball team gets its first major test of the year as Clemson heads to No. 2/3 South Carolina for a Thursday night contest at 7 p.m. televised on SEC Network. Clemson (2-0) is coming off an 82-73 victory over Troy, while South Carolina (1-0) opened its season with a win over Southern California.

The Tigers have scored 80 and 82 points in the first two games, respectively, with four players scoring in double-figures in each contest, led by freshman Shelbie Davenport at 17.5 ppg. Clemson enters No. 1 in the ACC in free throw percentage at .833 after going 24-27 from the stripe against the Trojans.

The matchup pits college teammates Audra Smith and Dawn Staley against one another. The two played together at Virginia for four seasons from 1988-92.

Clemson leads the all-time series, 33-26, but has lost four in a row.
