Women’s Golf Opens Spring Season at Tulane Classic

Round One Pairings

Clemson, S.C. – The Clemson women’s golf team opens its spring schedule this weekend at the Tulane Classic at the English Turn Golf Club in New Orleans, La. Clemson is one of 16 teams competing on the par 72 course that measures 6,178 yards.

The national field includes 10th-ranked Michigan, as well as ACC foe Boston College. Also participating are North Texas, Charlotte, Rutgers, Iowa, UTSA, UAB, SMU, Wichita State, Memphis, Southern Miss, Texas State, Nebraska and two teams from host-school Tulane.

The field will begin play Sunday morning, with tee times off the first and 10th tees at 9:00 a.m., then the same format continues on Monday. The final round tees off from the first and 10th tees on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m.

Sophomore Savannah Grewal will lead the Tigers this weekend in the lineup. Grewal finished the fall with a 73.22 stroke average and, in January, earned an invitation to the August National Women’s Amateur later in the spring. Freshman Melena Barrientos finished the fall with a 72.22 stroke average and five rounds under par, while freshman Katherine Schuster is also in the lineup this weekend after finishing the fall with a 76.67 stroke average.

Callista Rice and Annabelle Pancake also will be in the Clemson lineup this weekend. Rice had a 74.08 stroke average in the fall, while Pancake had a 73.56.

This is the Tigers’ sixth appearance at English Turn Golf Club, but first since 2018. Clemson’s best finish in this tournament was in the first year of the program, finishing tied for 5th in February of 2014.
