Women’s Cross Country to Compete at Lou Onesty Invitational This Weekend

Sept. 8, 2006

Clemson’s women’s cross country team travels to Earlysville, VA this weekend to compete in the Lou Onesty Invitational. The 5K event will be held at Panorama Farms, the same site that will host the ACC Championships later this fall. The site is just northwest of the University of Virginia campus, the host school. The women’s event is scheduled for 10:45 AM. Clemson and Virginia are the only two ACC schools competing this weekend.

The Lady Tigers have one event already under their belt. Clemson finished fourth last weekend in Columbia, SC for the Gamecock Invitational. The Lady Tigers placed three in the top 20 of the individual race, including sophomore Patrice McMillan, a middle distance runner by trade, was 19th with a time of 19:16. Clemson also got scoring efforts out of Thea Dix and Lauren Klas, another first-year performer for the Lady Tiger team.

Following this weekend’s event, Clemson returns to action in two weeks for the Great American Cross Country Festival. That event will be held in Hoover, AL.
