The Clemson women’s basketball team will travel to Staten Island, NY to take on Wagner College in non-conference action on Thursday night at 7:00 PM. The game will be the first of three in a five-day span for the Lady Tigers before Christmas break.

Clemson has won three consecutive games to even its overall record at 4-4 this season. The Lady Tigers began the streak with an overtime win over South Carolina and followed it with a 24-point victory over Morehead State before holding Pittsburgh to just 38 points last Saturday.

Junior leaders Julie Talley have both scored in double figures in each of the past three games. White had a season-high 17 in the win over Morehead State, and then recorded a double-double (13 points, 13 rebounds) to lead the Lady Tigers to the 51-38 win over Pittsburgh.

Talley is now second on the team in scoring at 9.5 points per game after three straight games in double figures. She has been hot of late from the outside, as she has hit 12 of her last 28 (.429) from beyond the three-point line.

Reggie Maddox leads Clemson in scoring at 10.1 points per game. The junior college transfer has shown all-around abilities this season for the Lady Tigers, as she leads the team in assists (31), steals (13), and is third in rebounding (6.3).

Wagner College will enter Thursday’s game with an 0-6 record on the season. The Seahawks have not played since December 7, when Long Island defeated Wagner 65-58 to begin Northeast Conference play for the two schools.

The Seahawks feature three double-figure scorers, led by Leeah Thomas’ 12.0 per game average. Thomas also leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game. Joyce Queiroz averages 11.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Joy Gallagher is the Seahawks’ third scorer averaging double figures. She is at 10.2 points per game, and also is second on the team in assists.

Following the contest with Wagner, Clemson will travel into New Jersey to take on a nationally-ranked Rutgers squad. The game is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 18, and will be televised live by Fox Sports Net New York.
