CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s basketball team will play its fourth straight game away from Littlejohn Coliseum on Sunday afternoon as the Lady Tigers (4-4) travel to Fayetteville, AR for a date with the Lady Razorbacks (7-0). The teams are scheduled to begin play at the Bud Walton Arean at 3:00 pm (Eastern Time).
Fans can follow the action on the airwaves with Dan Scott on WCCP-FM (104.9).
Since returning from an injury, D’Lesha Lloyd has put up 11.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in leading the Clemson squad in both categories. Sophomores Lele Hardy have been the only constants in the Lady Tiger starting line-up, combining for 16.1 points per game and 39 total steals. After three straight games with at least 10 points, sophomore transfer April Parker has brought her season scoring average to 9.3 per game to rank third on the team.
Scouting Arkansas The Lady Razorbacks are still perfect for the 2007-08 season with a 7-0 mark. They will be playing their first home game since a 69-52 win over Tulsa on Nov. 20. Most recently, Arkansas defeated Missouri, 66-53.
The Razorbacks are led by Lauren Ervin who owns team-bests with 14.9 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. She has also recorded 14 blocks shots with 24 assists and nine steals, while shooting 56.4-percent from the field. Whitney Jones and Ayana Brereton are also averaging in double figures for first-year head coach Tom Collen.
Overall, Arkansas is scoring 71.0 points per game while holding the opposition to just 51.0 per contest. The Lady Razorbacks are also out-rebounding their opponents by a 43.0-34.4 margin.
The Series Clemson and Arkansas have met on just two prior occassions with the Lady Razorbacks claiming both contests. They won a 78-68 decision in the first-round of the 2001 NCAA Tournament, held in Manhattan, KS and then defeated the Lady Tigers, 75-69, at Littlejohn Coliseum last season.
