CLEMSON, SC–The Clemson Women’s Basketball Schedule was announced Wednesday as well as the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Television Schedule.
Clemson will play a pair of exhibition games in early November and will open the 1999-00 season on Friday November 19, as the Lady Tigers play host to UMass in a 4:45 p.m. game. On November 22, Clemson will entertain Mississippi at 8:05 p.m.
Clemson will participate in the Coaches vs. Cancer Challenge at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, CT on November 24 & 26. The match-ups and televsion coverage will be announced in the near future. Clemson, Connecticut, Old Domion, and Kentucky will participate in this event.
The Lady Tigers will play host to South Carolina on Monday, November 29, at 8:05 p.m. and will play at Furman on December 1. Clemson will play only one ACC game in December as the Lady Tigers travel to Georgia Tech on December 4. After non-conference games with Wofford and Winthrop, Clemson will play Penn State at Myrtle Beach, SC as part of the ACC/Big 10 Challenge. North Carolina will face Michigan State in the other game at Myrtle Beach that same day. After three non-conference battles with UNC-Greensboro, East Carolina and UNC-Asheville, Clemson will be back in ACC play as the Tigers play host to Maryland on January 6. The ACC Tournament will be March 3-6, (Friday-Monday) at the Greensboro Coliseum, in Greensboro, NC.
Clemson is the defending Atlantic Coast Conference Champion and is coming off a 26-6 record overall. The Lady Tigers return eight letterwinners from last year’s squad. Clemson finished 10th in the Associated Press poll and 13th in the USA Today listing. Head Coach Jim Davis will be entering his 13th season at Clemson and has posted a 259-116 record in 12 years at the school.
