Wolfpack, Blue Devils on Schedule for Clemson Swim & Dive

RALEIGH, NC – The Clemson men’s and women’s swimming and diving will be going on a road trip to Tobacco Road this weekend to take on a pair of conference foes in consecutive days. The Tigers will face off against N.C. State in Raleigh on Friday at 5 p.m., then they will take on Duke in Durham on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Richmond women’s team will also participate in Saturday’s meet.

The Tigers enter the weekend with a 4-2 record (1-1 ACC) on the men’s side and a 4-3 mark (1-2 ACC) on the women’s side.

The Wolfpack men’s program is ranked 23rd nationally in the latest CSCAA poll and is 7-1 overall with a 4-1 record in conference play. They are currently ranked second in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings and have won every dual meet since a season-opening loss to Virginia Tech. The N.C. State women are 7-3 overall and 2-3 in the ACC for the season.

The Blue Devils are 5-5 for the season and 1-4 in the ACC on the men’s side and 3-6 overall and 0-5 in the ACC on the women’s side. The Spiders’ women’s team has a record of 4-7 for the season.

All three ACC teams have representatives at the top of conference lists in both individual and relay events. For the Tigers, Chris Dart is the conference leader in the 100 backstroke, and the team’s 200 and 400 freestyle relay squad is tops in the league as well.

N.C. State’s Barrett Miesfield leads in the 100 butterfly, while Hannah Hopkins leads in the one-meter dive. For Duke Christine Wixted sits atop the conference in the 100 breaststroke, Jessica Lyden is the conference leader in the three-meter dive, and Piotr Safronczyk is the ACC leader in the 100 breaststroke.
