FERNANDINA BEACH, FL — Tom Wideman, a three-year starter on the Clemson men’s basketball team, has been named to the ACC’s newly formed Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The ACC made the announcement of the committee and its members on Wednesday at the conclusion of the ACC Spring Meetings at Marco Island, FL. The committee consists of student-athletes representing each of the nine member institutions and reflects a cross section of the league’s 25 sports. It will be an advisory committee to the Commissioner and Conference representatives on issues concerning student-athletes and intercollegiate athletics. In addition to Wideman, members of the committee are Hilary Howard (Duke, women’s basketball), Ron Hale (Florida State, men’s basketball), Charles Wiley (Georgia Tech, football), Zoe Ehrlich (Maryland, women’s lacrosse), Staci Wilson (North Carolina, women’s soccer), Kevin Cutts (NC State, swimming), Kofi Bawuah (Virginia, football) and Lisa Andries (Wake Forest, field hockey). Wideman has been a starter on three Clemson basketball teams that have played in the NCAA Tournament. This past year he started 24 games and averaged 4.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. For his career he is a 52.1 percent field goal shooter, has 449 points and 474 rebounds.
