Pancake, Grewal Named to Academic All-ACC Team

Clemson, S.C.—Savannah Grewal and Annabelle Pancake have both been named to the ACC Academic All-ACC Women’s Golf team.  The announcement was made on Thursday by the ACC office in Greensboro, NC.  Both were named to the team for the first time.

Grewal ranked second on the Clemson team in stroke average this year with a 73.76 figure.  She had a strong finish to her season with a third place at the Clemson Invitational and a 16th place at the ACC Championship.  She was Clemson’s top player at the Clemson Invitational and tied for the best among Tigers at the league championship.

Grewal’s five-under par 211 at the Clemson Invitational included the first hole-in-one in Clemson women’s golf history.    The native of Ontario, Canada had the best score of the round among Tiger golfers eight times and her score counted in 20-21 team rounds.

Pancake was third on the Clemson team on stroke average this year with a 75.19 figure.  The native of Zionsville, Indiana had a pair of top 10 finishes this year to tie for the team lead and led the team in birdies with 68.

A highlight of Pancake’s freshman year took place at the Clover Cup in Mesa, Arizona where she finished ninth thanks to a final round 65, a score that tied for the best in Clemson women’s golf history.  Last week she won the Indiana  Women’s Amateur Championship for the second time.
