The Tigers are in paradise! Clemson is set to take part in the Junkanoo Jam in Bimini, Bahamas beginning on Thursday, Nov. 22. The Tigers are squaring off with the Oklahoma Sooners for rights to third place in the Junkanoo Division of the Jam. Tipoff at Gateway Christian Academy is set for 7:45 p.m. EST and the game will be broadcast on FloHoops.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools, fitting as it will be a neutral site contest in the Junkanoo Jam. In games against teams from the state of Oklahoma, the Tigers hold a 1-0 edge, defeating Oklahoma State 99-81 in the 1983-84 season opener.
Clemson faced its second ranked opponent of the season in an all-out battle with No. 11 Tennessee to open the Junkanoo Jam. The teams fought back-and-forth to come out on top with 13 ties and 16 lead changes between the two schools. Ultimately, the Volunteers prevailed, pulling away in the final five minutes of the game to win 78-66.
In its most recent outing against UAB, Oklahoma outrebounded the Blazers 38-37, but could not convert on offense in the waning minutes, falling five 89-84. Madi Williams led UAB with 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting, while three others notched 10+ points in the game.
