The Clemson volleyball team will wrap up its home schedule this weekend as they play host to Florida State and Duke in Jervey Gym. The Tigers will play Florida State on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. and Duke on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
On Friday night, the Clemson Elementary jump rope group will perform between games two and three, and then on Sunday the Tigers will honor the class of 2003 consisting of Lindsey Abbott, Ryane Beasley, Kiki Dallao, Laura Jensen and Marija Zoric, on Senior Day.
The Tigers enter this weekend with a 15-14 record on the season and a 4-9 mark in ACC play, after dropping a 3-1 decision to Wake Forest on Tuesday night. Lindsey Abbott leads the Tigers in defensive saves with 443 and a 3.96 digs per game average. Stephanie Haskell has dished out 1,118 assists with an 11.07 assists per game average and 233 digs.
Florida State has a 14-12 overall record and a 4-8 mark in conference action, after sweeping both North Carolina and NC State last weekend. The Seminoles are led by Cassie McLaughlin with 287 kills and a 3.05 kills per game average. McLaughlin has served up 51 aces this season and is second on the team with 210 digs. Aisha Carr has 263 kills with a .298 hitting percentage and a team-best 104 blocks (27 solo), while Amanda Santos has tallied 153 kills with 98 blocks (16 solo). Cerina Pele has recorded 298 digs with a 3.14 digs per game average for Florida State this season. Jennifer Anderson has handed out 707 assists with 149 digs, while Jessica Skower has tallied 444 assists with 51 blocks.
Clemson is 12-19 all-time against the Seminoles, but holds a 7-5 edge in Jervey Gym. The Tigers defeated Florida State 3-2 last year at home.
Duke is 9-16 overall and 6-7 in league play entering this weekend’s match, after falling to Georgia Tech on Tuesday night. Tassy Rufai leads the Blue Devils with 280 kills, a 3.33 kills per game average, 17 service aces and 236 digs. Krista Dill has posted 260 kills with a team-best .293 hitting percentage and leads Duke at the net with 121 blocks (23 solo). Nana Meriwether has tallied 184 kills with 81 blocks, while Katie Gilman has 152 kills with 246 digs and 12 service aces. Arielle Linderman has recorded 648 assists with a 9.53 assists per game average and 147 digs. Stephanie Istvan leads the team in digs with 350 and has tallied 438 assists for the Blue Devils.
The Tigers are 14-26 all-time against Duke with an 11-12 mark under head coach Jolene Jordan Hoover. Clemson is 6-9 against the Blue Devils in Jervey Gym.
