Volleyball to Host Clemson Classic this Weekend

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson volleyball team will play host the the 2012 Clemson Classic in Jervey Gym on Friday and Saturday of this weekend. Clemson (3-0) will take on Charlotte (3-0) to open on Friday at 6:30 pm in Jervey Gymnasium after Chattanooga (3-0) and East Tennessee State (4-1) get things started at 4:00 pm. On Saturday, Clemson will play at 10:30 am and 4:00 pm, meeting Chattanooga in the morning and closing with ETSU. The Buccaneers and Mocs will play at 12:30 pm on Saturday, and Charlotte and Chattanooga close the tournament at 6:00 pm. Clemson’s matches on Friday night and Saturday morning will be available on TigerCast for free in high definition on ClemsonTigers.com. Live stats are also available for all six matches at ClemsonTigers.com. The Tigers enter the weekend with three NCAA wins under their belt, and also knocked of the 49th-ranked team in the world in Slovenia on Tuesday. In all, the four teams playing this weekend have a combined 13-1 record, which should provide a good early-season test. Clemson cruised to the Big Orange Bash title, winning matches over Coastal Carolina, South Carolina State, and Xavier without dropping a set. Kristin Faust was named MVP for her efforts during the weekend. Clemson enters the weekend ranked first in the ACC in hitting percentage (.340) and hitting percentage defense (.080). Quick Hitters:
