Clemson is seeking its first ACC win this season after dropping its pair of matches at Boston College and Syracuse last weekend. The Tigers were led by redshirt-sophomore Brooke Bailey, who averaged 4.00 kills per set. Additionally, Bailey’s 16 kills against the Orange last Sunday tied her season-high which she initially achieved against Tulane on Sept. 15. Clemson enters the weekend having won five of its last eight contests.
Notre Dame split its pair of ACC opening contests at North Carolina and NC State last weekend. The Fighting Irish swept North Carolina Friday as freshman Sydney Bent led the Irish with 15 kills. Notre Dame fell in four sets at NC State Sunday. Senior libero Ryann DeJarld is currently leading the ACC in digs, averaging 5.73 digs per set. DeJarld is the only defensive player in the conference to average more than 5.00 digs per set.
Louisville went 2-0 on the road to open ACC play last weekend, a first for the Cardinals since 2015, with wins over NC State (3-1) and North Carolina (3-2). Senior middle blocker Jasmine Bennett currently ranks second in the ACC in hitting percentage (.416). The Cardinals are set to square off against Georgia Tech in Atlanta Friday at 7 p.m.
Additionally, there will be a brief recognition prior to the Louisville match Sunday for former Clemson standout Danielle Hepburn, who will be officially inducted into the Clemson Hall of Fame Friday evening.
