Volleyball Ranked No. 14 In AVCA Poll

Oct. 26, 1999

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team is ranked 14th nationally for the second week in a row according to the AVCA Division I Coaches Poll released this week. The Tigers received 725 points in the poll. Last week Clemson defeated Georgia State, North Carolina and NC State on the road.

“We were very excited to get two road wins over two really strong teams in North Carolina and NC State,” said Clemson head coach Jolene Jordan Hoover, now in her seventh season with the Tigers. “The North Carolina win was very important to us because we had lost to them at home previously. We’re looking forward to facing Maryland and Virginia at home this weekend and realize that there’s still a lot to go in conference play. We’re excited to be home for five of our six remaining conference matches.”

Clemson (21-1, 9-1 ACC) will play host to Virginia Friday at 7 p.m. and Maryland Saturday at 6 p.m. Free candy will be given to all fans who wear Halloween costumes to the matches this weekend.
