Volleyball Ranked No. 13 In AVCA Poll

Sept. 28, 1999

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson volleyball team is ranked 13th nationally according to the AVCA Division I Coaches Poll released this week, receiving 791 points in the poll. The Tigers opened the ACC season last week with wins over Wake Forest and Duke and defeated then-#21 Arkansas 3-0 last Sunday.

“We were really pleased with how well we played against Arkansas at home on Sunday,” said Jolene Jordan Hoover, who is in her seventh season as the head coach of the Tiger volleyball program. “This is a big week for us. We’re playing well right now, so this is a good time to have three very strong opponents like we have seen in Arkansas and will see in South Carolina and Georgia Tech this week.”

Clemson (12-0, 2-0 ACC) will play host to South Carolina Tuesday at 7 p.m. The first 500 fans will receive a free t-shirt as Clemson attempts to break the Jervey Gym attendance record of 1,203, set in 1997 against Florida State.
