Volleyball Inks Illinois Standout

Nov. 19, 2002

Clemson head volleyball coach Jolene Jordan Hoover announced the signing of an Illinois standout to a National Letter of Intent. A Jacksonville, IL native, Keila Davis will join the Clemson volleyball team in August of 2003.

“We are very pleased that Keila has chosen to join our program,” said Hoover. “We feel that she is a hidden gem that we were lucky to find. With great athletes like Keila, we will continue to have a nationally recognized program.”

The 5-11 middle hitter is an all-conference selection, and holds the Jacksonville High School record for most kills and blocks in a single season. Named the Most Valuable Player of her high school volleyball team in 2002, she helped lead the team to its seventh consecutive conference title and its 12th sectional title. Davis was a member of the 2002 Richeast (IL) all-tournament team.
