CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Volleyball Head Coach Michaela Franklin announced the signing of four players to the Tigers’ incoming class of 2021 on Wednesday. The signees include Jacyn Bamis (Spokane, Wash./Gonzaga Prep), Aźyah Dailey (Port Charlotte, Fla./Port Charlotte HS), Kyla Solis (Castroville, Texas/Medina Valley) and Devan Taylor (Spring, Texas/Klein HS).
“We are thrilled with the additions of our 2021 class,” said Franklin. “This class brings athleticism, skill, size, and determination. This group will also enhance the competitive atmosphere in our gym and help us work toward becoming elite. Each of these ladies will come in with a high level of volleyball knowledge from the training they received throughout their high school and club careers.”
Devan Taylor • 5-9 • Defensive Specialist/Libero • Spring, Texas • Klein HS
Franklin on Taylor…
“Devan is a skilled libero that has sheer determination and grit. Her determination and work ethic contribute to her defensive tenacity and her skill is what makes her an elite passer. Devan possesses the intangibles of what it takes to be a great libero such as her fiery demeanor, contagious and competitive energy, and confidence to communicate effectively in the backrow. We are looking forward to Devan joining us.”
Aźyah Dailey • 6-2 • Outside/Right Side/Middle Hitter • Port Charlotte, Fla. • Port Charlotte HS
Franklin on Daily…
Aźyah has a unique tool set in the fact that she is capable of playing anywhere along the net. She has experience as a middle, outside, and right-side attacker. She can also play six rotations with the ability to be explosive out of the backrow. She has an exciting, driven, calming, yet confident demeanor about her, which makes her enjoyable to have as a teammate.
Jacyn Bamis • 6-1 • Middle Blocker • Spokane, Wash. • Gonzaga Prep
Franklin on Bamis…
“Jacyn will help provide depth at our middle position, and she is a gifted athlete. She has a dynamic and friendly personality, which makes her a great teammate and joy to be around. One of the things I admire most about Jacyn is her independence as a young athlete, and because of that independence, she has the confidence to embrace new adventures and take challenges head on and won’t back down.”
Kyla Solis • 6-3 • Middle Blocker • Castroville, Texas • Medina Valley
Franklin on Solis…
“When Kyla came to camp she showcased her talent, but most importantly what stood out to our coaching staff is her commitment to the game and intense work ethic. Because of her work ethic, we know she is going to be able to achieve wonderful things, both academically and athletically, during her career as a Tiger. She is a physical 6’3” middle blocker who is just starting to scratch the surface of the kind of dynamic person and player she has the potential to be.”
