Clemson will look to carry its momentum after its sweep (25-18, 25-13, 25-22) over Virginia Tech Sunday. The Tigers achieved their best hitting performance against an ACC foe against the Hokies, collectively hitting .369 for the match. Redshirt-sophomore Brooke Bailey spearheaded the Clemson offense for the second straight match, registering a team-best 12 kills on 19 attempts, while hitting .526. Additionally, freshman setter Gabby Easton tallied 35 assists and sophomore libero Madi Howell totaled 13 digs against VT. Easton still remains the ACC’s leader in assists (11.04/set).
The Blue Devils are coming off a 1-1 road stint at then-No. 25 Louisville and Notre Dame. Duke was swept by the Cardinals Friday, but bounced back against Notre Dame, knocking off the Fighting Irish in five sets. The Blue Devils are led by redshirt-junior middle blocker Leah Meyer, who ranks seventh in the conference in hitting percentage (.372). Additionally, senior setter Andie Shelton leads the conference in service aces (0.44/set).
The Demon Deacons dropped their pair of road matches last week in four sets, also against Notre Dame and Louisville. Sophomore Myca Mitchell led the effort for the Deacons with 23 kills on the weekend (3.29 k/s), while Caitlyn Della added 15 kills for a team-high .256 attack percentage. Sophomore setter Madeline Holt currently ranks ninth in the conference in assists (9.64/set), while senior libero Hailey McFadden ranks ninth in digs (3.68/set).
