Volleyball Drops 3-1 Decision to Wake Forest

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team, ranked third in District III, dropped a 3-1 decision to Wake Forest Saturday night at Jervey gym. The win was the Wake Forest volleyball program’s first-ever victory over Clemson. The Demon Deacons took a 13-15, 15-13, 15-13, 15-12 win over the Tigers.

Stephanie Schulz led the Tigers with a .367 hitting percentage (15 kills, four errors, 30 attempts). Junior Alison Coday recorded 25 kills, 10 errors and 65 attempts for a .231 attack percentage.

Junior Cindy Stern had a triple-double, with 18 kills, 12 blocks and11 digs for the Tigers. Freshman Jodi Steffes hit .267 for the evening with 12 kills, four assists and 30 attacks. She led the team with 24 digs.

Wake Forest (14-5, 3-3 ACC) was led by Margaret Davidson, who hit .278 with 15 kills, five errors and 36 attempts. She led the team with eight blocks. Corie Miles recorded 31 digs in the win.

Clemson (11-5, 4-2 ACC) will play host to Georgia Tech Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Tigers will attempt to break the home attendance record of 1,203 at Wednesday’s match.
