CLEMSON – The Clemson Tiger volleyball team improved to 4-7 overall with a straight game win over the Mercer Bears Tuesday night at Jervey Gym.
Jodi Steffes led all hitters with 14 kills, two services aces, four digs and three block assists. Meredith Kirtland tallied nine kills with seven digs while Anne Berki and Kiki Dalloa added five kills each. Jessi Betcher handed out a match high 21 assists and Jackie Dalleska led all blockers with one solo and three block assists. Clemson hit .345 on the night while Mercer hit .031.
Mercer was led by Vicky Skundric who had 10 kills and two digs. Bonnie Sample tallied 15 assists with one service ace and one block assist. Jessica Childress had a team-high eight digs.
Clemson travels to North Carolina State on Friday for their ACC opener at 7 p.m. The Tigers continue their conference schedule on Saturday with a 4 p.m. match at North Carolina.
