Volleyball Defeats Georgia State

October 24, 1998

CLEMSON, S.C.- October 24, 1998 -The Clemson volleyball team defeated Georgia State 3-0 Saturday night at Jervey gym. The Tigers took a 15-7, 15-5, 15-11 victory over the Panthers. Clemson outhit Georgia State in each game, taking a .344 to .023 hitting advantage in game two.

Senior Stephanie Schulz recorded nine kills in the matchup, bringing her career total to 997 kills. She led the team with seven block assists.

Junior Skye Frost hit .444 for the match, with 13 kills, one error and 27 total attempts. She led the team with four service aces. Junior Cindy Stern hit .438, with eight kills, one error and 16 attempts. Junior Alison Coday had 10 kills, three errors and 23 attempts. Freshman Jodi Steffes led the Tigers with 15 digs.

Georgia State (21-6, 4-0 TAAC) was led by Samantha Walker, who hit .269 (11 kills, four errors, 26 total attempts). Walker also had 16 digs to pace the Panthers.

Clemson (16-6, 7-3 ACC) will travel to Georgia Tech Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
