BLACKSBURG, VA–Ben Nason scored the winning goal with 2:07 left to go in the second overtime period in leading Virginia Tech to a 2-1 win over Clemson in the Virginia Tech Men’s Soccer Invitational at Blacksburg, VA Friday night. This contest also counts as an Atlantic Coast Conference match.

Clemson is now 1-2 on the year, while Virginia Tech improves to 2-1 this season. It was the first ACC match of the year for both teams.

Clemson scored first in the 35th minute as David Bell scored from eight yards out. Virginia Tech tied the match at the 74:49 mark as Alexander Baden scored with an assist by James Gilson. Baden headed the ball in the goal off a corner kick by Gilson. Nason scored his second goal of the year as he sent the match-winner in the netting from 10 yards out at the 107:53 point. He was assisted by Robert Edmans Clemson will play Virginia Commonwealth Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Tigers’ next match in this tournament.
