Twelve Former Tigers in Second Stage of PGA Qualifying

CLEMSON, SC – Twelve former Clemson golfers, including eight who qualified through the first stage of PGA Qualifying, will take part in the second stage. The second stage will be held at six different sites around the nation starting November 16 and 17.

Elliott Gealy, Ben Duncan, Tommy Biershenk and Martin Cataliotto all qualified from the first stage site in Kannapolis, NC. Gealy finished second in that field with a 272 score for his four rounds, while Duncan was fourth with a 273 total. Biershenk was seventh at 279 and Cataliotto was 22nd with a 283 score.

Stephen Poole, Phillip Mollica, Ben Martin and Matt Hendrix all finished in the top 13 at the first round qualifier a Pinewild Golf Club in Pinehurst, NC. Poole and Mollica finished tied for fifth with a 283 score, while Martin was 11th at 286 and Hendrix was 13th at 287.

Brent Delahoussaye, Danny Ellis, Charles Warren and Kevin Johnson were all exempt from the first stage and will advance to the second stage. Delahoussaye, Warren and Johnson were on the PGA Tour this past season and Ellis had an injury plagued 2010 season. Ellis is a veteran of 10 years on the PGA and Nationwide Tours.

News
