Track & Field Squads Split Up This Weekend

CLEMSON, S.C. – With a small group of athletes headed to the Texas Relays and a bigger one to the Raleigh Relays, Clemson track & field has split its travel party this weekend. The Texas Relays starts up Thursday and runs through Saturday, while the Raleigh (N.C.) Relays is set for Friday and Saturday.

The Tigers opened the 2014 outdoor slate a week ago in the Charlotte 49er Classic. Several quality performances were recorded, as the Tigers racked up six individual wins and a relay championship. Four athletes either entered Clemson’s all-time performance list, or improved upon their top-10 event ranking coming into the outdoor season.

Most of Clemson’s sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers made their way to Austin for the 87th running of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Among others, Marlena Wesh returned to action last weekend for the first time in nearly a year. She won the 200 dash at the 49er Classic. For live scoring, click HERE.

The majority of the distance groups and throws make their way to the state of North Carolina on Thursday for the annual Raleigh Relays, presented by adidas. The meet can be followed live via Flash Results.
