Enter Tommy Bowden’s Chat Room
Clemson, SC – On Wednesday April 4th, at 1:45 p.m. ET, Clemson football coach Tommy Bowden will make a special visit to the ClemsonTigers.com/ESPN.com moderated chat room to field questions from the fans!
Tommy Bowden came out of the gates at Clemson in 1999 facing the nation’s toughest schedule and led the Tigers to a 3 game improvement from ’98 to finish the regular season 6-5 and earn a trip to the Peach Bowl and a match-up with the 13th ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs. In his second season in Tigertown he brought the Clemson fans 3 more victories and a Gator Bowl birth against #6 Virginia Tech. The Tigers were ranked as high as #3 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll during the season and finished the season 9-3 and #14 in the nation, which was Clemson’s highest ranking since 1991.
Clemson’s record books were rewritten in Bowden’s first two years, setting 77, including 60 on offense. The 2000 Tigers were the first Clemson team in history to average over 200 yards a game passing and 200 yards a game rushing in the same season. His 2000 team had four players earn All-American honors and six players earn All-ACC honors. Clemson was also the only Division I program in the nation to have two first-team Academic All-Americans. In addition, Clemson had 21 players selected to the ACC Academic Honor Roll, which was the most in school history.
Bowden and his staff are currently in the middle of spring practice preparing for the annual Orange & White Game which will be played at Death Valley on Saturday April 7th.
While Coach Bowden will not be stopping by until Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. ET, feel free to fire off your questions now and we will save them for his arrival!
