Tigers Win Two Event Titles On Day One Of Clemson Classic

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s track and field team won two individual titles on the first day of competition at the 2005 Clemson Classic. The Tigers’ George Kitchens and Danny Alge claimed individual event titles Friday evening at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Facility. Kitchens won the long jump with a mark of 23’8″, while Alge posted a mark of 58’3″ to capture the weight throw title. Also in action for Clemson, Mickey Sheats turned in a personal-best performance in the long jump with his mark of 23’2″ to place third in the event.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday in day two of the Clemson Classic. The meet resumes at 11:00 AM at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Facility.
