CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s golf team is set to compete in the ACC Women’s Golf Championship at the Reserve Golf Club at Pawley’s Island in Pawley’s Island, S.C. The tournament begins Thursday, April 14, and concludes Sunday, April 17, and will feature three rounds of stroke play on Thursday (two rounds) and Friday (one round) before match play begins on Saturday. The top four teams following stroke play will advance to the match-play semifinals on Saturday with the finals being contested on Sunday.
Clemson brings along a lineup of Katherine Schuster, Savannah Grewal, Melena Barrientos, Callista Rice, and Gabriella Tomanka. Grewal, Rice, and Pancake led the Tigers to a 6th-place finish at last year’s event in Greensboro, N.C.
The teams are seeded based on GolfStat rankings, with the Tigers picking up a 6-seed heading into the weekend (#34 ranking). Clemson is paired with Duke and Virginia Tech and will tee of Thursday morning beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Hole #1 for the first round. The teams will then play a second round on Thursday afternoon, with the same groupings, with no break in between.
The semifinals and finals of the ACC Women’s Golf Championship match play will be televised live on ACC Network Extra. Jim Kelly (play-by-play) and Jane Crafter (analyst) will provide the call. A championship recap show will air April 25 at 7 p.m. on ACCN. Live scoring of the entire event can be accessed via Golfstat.
