Tigers Travel to Cornell Friday, Penn Sunday for Nonconference Road Matches

Who: Clemson (8-6) vs. Cornell Big Red (5-5)

Who: Clemson (8-6) vs. No. 23 Penn Quakers (11-4)
When: Sunday, March 10, 11 a.m.
Where: Hecht Tennis Center, Philadelphia, Pa.

Clemson Notes: 

  • The Clemson men’s tennis team travels to Ithaca, N.Y. to face Cornell on Friday, March 8 at 5 p.m., and Philadelphia, Pa. to face 23rd-ranked Penn on Sunday, March 10 at 11 a.m. The two matches are the final nonconference matches of the season for the Tigers.
  • The Tigers are coming off of an exciting 4-3 victory over Georgia Tech on March 3 at home at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility. In the contest, Clemson won the doubles point, and Pierre-Louis Dodens, Jacob Jahn and Simon Baudry won their singles matches. The result of the match came down to Baudry, who clinched with a 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 2 singles.
  • Dodens lead the Clemson team in dual singles wins, as the junior from Geneva, Switzerland has played matches at No. 4 and No. 5 singles and has an 8-4 record in 2019.
  • Dodens also leads the Tigers in individual dual doubles wins, with an impressive 12-1 record. He has paired with freshman Jacob Jahn for a 7-1 record and freshman Mike Agee for a 5-0 record.
