CLEMSON, S.C. — The men’s and women’s track & field teams head to Athens, Ga., to compete in the Spec Towns Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Clemson’s action begins in the early afternoon Friday, with the men’s and women’s long jump and hammer throw competitions. The prelims for the 100 hurdles will also be held Friday.
One of the first competitors on Saturday for the Tigers is sophomore Dylan Ahrens, who has performed well through the early portion of the outdoor schedule in the men’s javelin. The competition is set for 11 a.m. The first running event is the women’s 5000 meters at 9 a.m. The event closes out Saturday at approximately 4:30 p.m. with the running of the 4×400 relays.
Clemson has competed in three outdoor meets, most recently the Texas Relays. Iana Amsterdam showed out for the Tigers, setting a personal best and NCAA-leading mark in the triple jump. In addition, the women’s distance medley relay set a school record.
