Tigers Third After 2 Rounds of NCAA Tournment

Stillwater, OK – Clemson stands in third place as a team after the second round of the NCAA men’s golf tournament at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, OK. The Tigers fired a 14-over-par 302 on Wednesday and now have a total of 601 after 36 holes. The third round continues Thursday with the final round on Friday.

UCLA has the lead after a 295 team score on Wednesday, the best team round of the tournament by four shots. Oklahoma State, the host school, is second at +24, while Clemson is third at +25. Florida and Auburn are at +26, meaning five teams are within four shots of the lead heading into the third round. Wake Forest is in sixth place at +34, while Southern Cal stands at +35. Georgia Tech, North Carolina and NC State are all at +40 through two rounds.

Individually, Jack Ferguson is in 15th place with a two round total of 149, while Gregg Jones is 20th with a 150 total. D.J. Trahan, who has finished in the top 15 in each of the last three NCAA Tournaments, is 38th after two rounds with a 153 total. Matt Hendrix stands 44th with a 154 total, while Ben Duncan is 84th at 158. Duncan jumped from 140th after the first round to 84th with his second round 73.
