Clemson, S.C.– The Clemson men’s soccer team heads to Conway, S.C. to start their 2019 season with an exhibition match against Coastal Carolina on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. The match will be held on the campus of Coastal Carolina University at CCU Soccer Field. The Tigers enter the preseason having received votes in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Preseason Top 25 poll.
The two sides are familiar foes, as they have squared off against each other in the regular season six times in the past five years. Clemson holds the overall series lead, having won eight of the 15 match-ups dating back to their first meeting in 1985. Head Coach Mike Noonan has had an even record against the Chanticleers, going 2-2-2 during his time at the helm of the Clemson program.
Coastal Carolina played in their first exhibition this past Sunday night, winning 2-1 over UNC-Greensboro. Clemson will host UNC-Greensboro on Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Historic Riggs Field.
Clemson will conclude their preseason slate at home against Presbyterian College on Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. Clemson’s regular season starts on Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. against South Carolina. All home matches are played at Historic Riggs Field on the campus of Clemson University. Season tickets can be purchased here.
