Tigers Set To Open 1999-00 Campaign Against UMass

CLEMSON, S.C.–The Clemson Women’s Basketball team will open its 1999-2000 season Friday as the Lady Tigers play host to Massachusetts in Littlejohn Coliseum at 4:45 p.m.

Clemson is the defending Atlantic Coast Conference Champion and is coming off a 26-6 record overall. The Lady Tigers return eight letterwinners from last year’s squad. Clemson finished 10th in the Associated Press poll and 13th in the USA Today listing. Head Coach Jim Davis will be entering his 13th season at Clemson and has posted a 259-116 record in 12 years at the school.

The Tigers are led by center Erin Batth. Batth is Clemson’s only returning starter from last year’s squad. She averaged 7.6 ppg. and 5.0 rpg. last season.

Massachusetts had a 16-14 record last season. On Monday, November 22, Clemson will entertain Mississippi at 8:05 p.m.

Forward–Nuria Forns, JR, 6-1, 3.2 ppg., 1.2 rpg. Forward–Datishella Byrd, SR, 6-1, 1.3 ppg. 1.9 rpg.
