Tigers Remain Unbeaten On Season

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -James Mays scored 11 points and had 10 rebounds to help Clemson to a 67-58 win over Furman on Wednesday night.

The Tigers (4-0) used a 16-5 run fueled by two 3-pointers from Julius Powell to take a 54-36 lead with 9:31 to play. They would lead by double-digits until a pair of 3-pointers by Furman (2-1) cut the final margin to nine points.

Vernon Hamilton led Clemson with 13 points, while K.C. Rivers came off the bench to add 10 points.

Moussa Diagne and George Brozos each led Furman with 11 points apiece.

The Tigers won their fourth game in five days by shooting well and getting the ball inside. Clemson went 27-of-56 (48 percent) from the field, while holding the Paladins to 19-of-51 (37 percent) shooting.

The Tigers also scored 46 points in the paint compared to 20 points inside for Furman.

Clemson led 31-20 at halftime, forcing 11 turnovers and holding Furman to just 22 percent (5-of-23) shooting in the opening 20 minutes.

The Tigers have won 25 straight and 33 of their last 34 games against Furman.
