Meet Program | Clemson Notes
Clemson, S.C. – The Clemson Track and Field program will host its third meet of the season, the Clemson Invitational, on Jan. 17-18 at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex. The two-day meet, which is a first for the Tigers this season, will see the program compete against Harvard, Kennesaw State, Winston Salem State and Northeastern. Action is set to begin on Friday at 2:30 p.m., while action will resume on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
“This meet is relatively small, but what you can say about track and field meets is that times are the same and the distances are the same, so we need to take advantage of another opportunity to compete and get better. Some of our kids are opening up in their primary events and I’m excited about the opportunity to see how much better we got from last week.”
Entering the meet, Clemson currently has 10 individuals and one relay ranked within the top-30 nationally. LaFranz Campbell ranks seventh in the men’s 60mH after his impressive run of 7.77 seconds at last weekend’s Clemson Orange & Purple Elite. Sarah Hill and Kenya Livingston rank 12th in the nation in the women’s 60m and women’s high jump, respectively.
Andrea Foster, Laurie Barton and Kamryn McIntosh will be making their season debuts in the women’s 800m. All three athletes have earned All-ACC accolades in the event earlier in their careers. Lakeisha Warner will make her debut in the women’s 400m. Warner earned All-ACC honors during the 2018 outdoor season in the 400mH. Deonte Tolbert, who has been dominant in the men’s 300m early on in the season, will make his debut in the men’s 400m on Friday.
