Tigers Ranked #15 in Sports Weekly Preseason Baseball Poll

Clemson, SC – Clemson is ranked #15 in Sports Weekly’s 2010 preseason coaches poll, released on Friday. Texas is atop the Sports Weekly poll, followed by #2 Louisiana State, #3 Cal State Fullerton, #4 Virginia, and #5 Florida State. Other ACC teams ranked in the top 25 include #10 Georgia Tech, #11 North Carolina, and #13 Miami (FL), meaning six of the top-15 teams are from the ACC.

The Tigers, who are also ranked #15 in the preseason Baseball America poll and #16 in the preseason Collegiate Baseball poll, had a 44-22 overall record and 19-11 ACC regular-season mark in 2009, and they advanced to the Tempe (AZ) Super Regional after capturing the Clemson (SC) Regional title. The Tigers, who will hold its first practice on Friday afternoon, will open the 2010 season on February 19 against Miami (OH) at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
