Tigers Qualify Three For NCAA Championships At The Clemson Classic On Saturday

CLEMSON, SC- The Clemson Men’s Track and Field team competed in the Clemson Classic Saturday at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Facility. Itay Magidi set the facility record and qualified provisionally for the NCAA National Meet with a time of 4:05.30 in the mile. Roy Cheney also had a provisional qualifying time of 7.29 in the 55m hurdles. Jason Bell also had another provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump.

In the 55m, Itay Magidi had an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4:05.30 in the mile and finished in first place, while Roy Cheney finished second in the 55m hurdles with a time of 7.29, and Roy Cheney won the event with a time of 3:14.54.

Jason Bell had a provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump with a personal best mark of 52’0″ to win the event, and Mickey Sheats finished second with a mark of 48’10”. In the high jump, Arthur Hinton placed third with a jump of 6’4.75″. Mitch Greeley finished third in the pole vault with a mark of 16’6.75″. Derek Gilson finished second in the shot put with a throw of 55’3″.

The Tigers return to action on March 5 at the Iowa State Last Chance Meet.
