Tigers Open Up Season Action At Mason Rudolph Championship

Clemson, S.C. – The Clemson women’s golf team is set to kick off their season at the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn. The 14 team field will compete for the crown from September 20-22 on the par-72 course.

Freshman Savannah Grewal will get her first action as a Tiger as she rounds out the Clemson lineup in the number five position. In addition to Grewal, the Tigers will travel Alexandra Swayne, Ivy Shepherd, Ana Paula Valdes and Lindsay May.

The host team Vanderbilt is the reigning team champion in addition to returning the 2018 individual medalist, Abbey Carlson. However, last year’s event was reduced to 36 holes due to storms.

Last season the Tigers finished T4th of 15 among the field after opening the first round of play in solo third. Shepherd was the top Tiger competitor with her three-under par 69 in the opening round before shooting one-over in what would become the final round of competition. Shepherd opened her collegiate career at the same tournament last year and managed 11 birdies between the first two rounds.
