Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson won both of its exhibition games in 2016, defeating West Alabama, 80-48, on Oct. 30, and North Greenville, 79-57, on Nov. 6.
  • Sophomore Danielle Edwards averaged 16.0 points per game, and was followed closely by junior Nelly Perry, with a 15.5 ppg average in the two contests.
  • Perry also led the team in rebounding, with a 10.0 rpg average, while freshman Jaia Alexander and sophomore Sirah Diarra averaged 7.5 rpg and 7.0 rpg, respectively.
  • The Tigers enter Head Coach Audra Smith’s fourth season with eight returning letterwinners, including four starters, and five newcomers.
  • Perry is the Tigers’ returning leader in points (373) and points per game (14.3), and tied for the lead in blocks (15) and minutes per game (33.0).
  • Sophomore Aliyah Collier is the returning leader in rebounds (179) and rebounds per game (6.0).
  • Edwards is the team’s returning leader in assists (84), steals (69) and minutes played (991), and tied for the lead in blocks (15) and minutes per game (33.0).
  • The four returning starters for the Tigers are Collier, Edwards, Perry and junior Victoria Cardaci. Carter and sophomore Sirah Diarra also return after playing significant minutes a season ago.

Series Information:

  • Clemson and Coastal Carolina have met three times on the basketball court, with the Tigers winning two of the three contests.
  • The two teams met last season in Jervey Gym, on Nov. 15, 2015, with the Chanticleers winning, 63-47. In that contest, then-freshman Danielle Edwards had her first career double-double, with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
