CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson diving team hosts a diving exhibition this Friday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. at McHugh Natatorium. The third annual event is free and open to the public.
The event gives fans an opportunity to meet the Clemson divers and learn about the sport of diving. The Tigers will demonstrate the basics of diving as well as some of the more advanced dives of the sport as they prepare for the upcoming season. The exhibition also features a fast-paced, entertaining segment including synchronized dives and high-flying, daring dives from the springboards and platforms.
Clemson returns nine divers from the 2013-14 squad, including seniors Jessica Doolittle, Chelsea Uranaka and Emily Yoder. Also returning for the Tigers are juniors Megan Helwagen and Jessica Resler, sophomore Sarah Braun and second-semester freshman Danielle Reitsma, all of which, along with Uranaka, participated in the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships a season ago.
The Tigers officially open the 2014-15 season on Saturday, Nov. 1 against NC State and Richmond in Greensboro, N.C., the site of the 2015 NCAA Diving Championships. Friday’s exhibition is one of only two chances to see the team in action at home this year, as Clemson hosts College of Charleston on Saturday, Feb. 7.
