On Thursday afternooon, the Clemson women’s basketball team as well as coaches and staff spent two hours volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in Greenville, S.C. The players and staff cooked for the house guests, baking nearly 100 cookies from scratch.
The visit also included a tour of the house and an information session educating the team on what happens at the Ronald McDonald House on a daily basis. In addition to service efforts at the house, the team donated pop tabs collected by the Clemson Athletic Department and toiletries collected from numerous road trips during the season.
“I really enjoyed making cookies for the families of the Ronald McDonald House. It is truly amazing how this foundation finds a way to house 300 plus families a year and provide for them,” freshman point guard Danielle Edwards said following the event.
The Ronald McDonald House in Greenville will continue to collect pop tabs throughout the year. For more information on how to donate please visit http://rmhc-carolinas.org/lend-a-hand/pop-tabs/.
