Tigers Fall 4-2 to Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 16 Clemson Tigers (17-2, 6-1) recorded their first conference loss of the season as they dropped a Friday night match to the Florida State Seminoles (11-7, 3-4) 4-2 at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center.

The Tigers brought the energy early in doubles as the duo of Wissam Abderrahman and Romain Gales were first to secure a win as they defeated Azariah Rusher and Corey Craig 6-3 on court three. The Seminoles took the win on court two and despite the battle from No. 31 Noa Vukadin and Max Smith, the No. 6 Florida State duo of Alex Bulte and Youcef Rihane sealed the 7-5 victory on court one to give the Seminoles the doubles point.

In singles, freshman Viktor Markov was the first to secure a win as he defeated Bulte 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 on court three. Vukadin, who is ranked 55th in the nation in singles, defeated No. 40 Jamie Connel 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 on court two. Florida State went on to win on court one, four and five and clinched the match 4-2.
